One of the three main aims of the Federation of Young European Greens over the next few years is to strengthen the Young Green movement. An important way to strengthen a political movement is to recruit new members who can carry the green message. Several member organisations work actively and strategically to refine their techniques of member recruiting in schools, city centres, festivals, queues for concerts, etc. The Federation of Young European Greens is a platform where this knowledge should be shared.
The Swedish Young Greens recruit members every week in different parts of the country. But a few times a year, we arrange a national recruitment day, where all local branches of the organisation recruit simultaneously. We want to bring this initiative to the European level. If all member organisations twice a year conduct a common recruitment day and report their results to EC, we are likely to get an impressive number to brag about. It would illuminate the broadness of the green movement, and hopefully generate some media attention.
